Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most evidence-based treatment for gambling disorder. It works by identifying the thought patterns that drive gambling behaviour and replacing them with healthier responses. CBT is available through private therapists across major Indian cities and increasingly through online therapy platforms.
NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences) in Bengaluru is the most established public institution in India for addiction treatment including gambling disorder. It offers outpatient and inpatient services and is a referral point for severe cases.
