The full iSpy impression was written by Bogdan Romedea, who played both sides of the game's syndicate split before reaching a verdict. SlotsMate catalogues more than 23,000 slots and is one of the most widely referenced review platforms in the industry, so a hands-on write-up from their team is a useful read for us as well as for players.

What the Review Highlighted
Romedea's main point was that the choice players make before the first spin is a genuine fork in the game, not a cosmetic one – in his words, iSpy was "quite a pleasant surprise."
He tested both syndicates across several hundred spins and found exactly the split we designed for: Crimson paid regularly but kept wins modest, while Sapphire paid far less often and landed at 20x or better almost every time it did. His scored bonus rounds ranged from 21x to 88x, which is a fair illustration of how wide the distribution runs.
The review also flagged the trade-off honestly: bonus outcomes in iSpy vary a great deal. That is the intended shape of a high-volatility title, and we would rather see it described plainly than smoothed over.
Pick Your Syndicate
iSpy opens with a choice between two volatility profiles running on the same 5×5 grid and 15 fixed paylines:
- Crimson Syndicate – more frequent wins, lower ceilings per hit
- Sapphire Syndicate – rarer wins, but meaningfully larger when they arrive
Both routes share the same symbol set and the same top-end potential. What changes is the rhythm of the session.
The Expanding Wild Multiplier
The central mechanic is the Expanding Wild Multiplier. When one lands as part of a winning combination, it stretches to fill its entire reel and then reveals a multiplier between 2x and 100x, which is applied to every win connected to it.
Standard wilds land on any reel and substitute for everything except scatters and the expanding wilds themselves. Scatters appear only on reels 1, 3 and 5, and three of them open the bonus.
Free Spins, Bonus Boost and Buy Options
Three scatters award 10 free spins in whichever syndicate the player selected. Any expanding wild that lands during the round locks in place for the remainder of it, so multipliers accumulate rather than resetting spin to spin.
Players who want to reach the feature faster have two routes:
- Bonus Boost – raises the stake by 50% in exchange for increased scatter frequency
- Bonus Buy – 75x for the Crimson bonus, 150x for Sapphire, or 300x for the Sapphire Super Bonus, which guarantees a wild multiplier on the first free spin
